Dinko Jukić

Dinko Jukic (2012 )

Dinko Jukic ( born January 9, 1989 in Dubrovnik, Croatia) is an Austrian professional swimming. The preferred routes of 191 cm float are capable of stretching, or the 200 m butterfly. He swims for the Wiener SC Austria Wien.

Sports career

To swim Jukic began in 1993 in Croatia, before he moved to Austria in 1999. He is coached by his father, Željko. His school, he graduated in BRG Marchettigasse. Due to its extraordinary performance in school he was able to skip a grade and maturieren in 2007.

He enjoyed special attention at first mainly by the fact that he is the younger brother of the highly successful Austrian swimmer Mirna Jukic (* 1986). The first time he showed in 2005 at the Olympic Youth Days, the public his potential when he won two gold medals. Successfully, we went swimming at the 2006 World Youth Championships in Rio de Janeiro, as if he over 400 m medley and 200m butterfly respectively swam the gold medal. In the European Swimming Championships in Budapest in 2006 was Jukićs best finish a 15th place on 200 m medley. In Melbourne he won at the World Swimming Championships in 2007 over 200m medley 20 and 200 m butterfly to 22nd place. The Short Course European Championships 2007 in Debrecen, he was ninth (200 m medley ), or tenth (400 m medley ).

Only two years after his 15th place in Budapest, he was sensational second over the 200 meters and fourth on the 400 m Individual Medley at the 2008 European Championships in Eindhoven. He also swam the 4x200 m freestyle relay ( together with Markus Rogan, David Brandl and Dominik Koll ) the bronze medal. In April 2008, Dinko Jukic was in Manchester in fourth on the 400 meters and fifth on the 200m Individual Medley at the Short Course World Championships 2008. Through the subsequent withdrawal of the third place by Ioannis Drymonakos for doping Jukic was subsequently awarded the bronze medal. In December 2008 he won at the European Short Course Championships in Rijeka gold over 400 m medley and silver over 200m butterfly. In the swimming world championships 2009 he improved his Austrian record in the flow over 200 m butterfly. In the final run, he could not reach this time and finished sixth.

In October 2011, he was acquitted in a doping process of the National Anti -Doping Agency ( NADA).

At the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London, he reached the fourth place in the swimming competitions of over 200 m butterfly.

On August 29, 2012, banned for 12 months by all national and international competitions Dinko Jukic from OSV OSV for insulting officials at the European Championships in Debrecen, of which 10 months must. In the event of such a barrier Jukic had previously announced end of his career.

Political career

In 2010, Jukic was a candidate of the Austrian People 's Party ( ÖVP ) for the state assembly and council elections in Vienna. He went to the district Meidling, the forecasted mandate, he did not reach.
