Dinxperlo

Dinxperlo is a town in the eastern Netherlands. It belongs to the municipality of Aalten in the province of Gelderland and located on the border of the German state of North Rhine -Westphalia.

Location and boundary

Dinxperlo is adjoining the German Suderwick that belongs to the city of Bocholt. It has about 8,600 inhabitants and was until 1811 a quiet farming village under the feudal system of rule Bredevoort. Thereafter, until 2004 Dinxperlo was a separate municipality. With the municipality reform of 1 January 2005, the municipality Dinxperlo was dissolved and since then is the municipality of Aalten.

The boundary between Suderwick and Dinxperlo runs right through the village street, the German side of the road and Hellweg 's Dutch side is called Heelweg.
