Dirk van der Ven
Dirk van der Ven ( born March 1, 1970 in Duisburg ) is a former German football player.
Playing career
After working for TuS Lumber, VfR Sölde and VfL sword of Duisburg native began his professional career at SG Wattenscheid 09 in the 2nd Bundesliga in 1987 / 88th In his debut season he came up with 11 inserts and a goal. In his second season, he did not go beyond the role of the complement player and scored a goal in seven games. This was followed by the change to 1 FC Schweinfurt 05 Here he also could not enforce and left the club in order to play unterklassig several years at Rot-Weiss Lüdenscheid, before 1995 tried a new approach to FC Gütersloh. With Gütersloh he rose in the first year of the Regionalliga West / Southwest in the second league with 21 goals and was top scorer. In the subsequent second league season he had as his team's leading scorer (10 goals) substantial share of the relegation of the riser 1996/97. After the season he moved back into the regional league to LR Ahlen, where he remained only until the winter break, and then for one and a half years for KFC Uerdingen 05 went where he was also a regular player again.
With Arminia Bielefeld he played in the 1999/2000 season for the first time in the Bundesliga, but he rose with the Arminia after a year in the second league from. In 2003 he rose again with Bielefeld in the Bundesliga, but was no longer a regular player and played in his second and last Bundesliga season only one time. After a short trip to Japan for the Yokohama FC he stood for Rot-Weiss Essen in the Regionalliga Nord still 11 times on the court, before he moved to his old club FC Gütersloh and a year later to unterklassigen SG Bustedt.
After the career
Van der Ven was assistant coach of the women's team of FC Gütersloh. Today he runs a soccer hall and a football school.
For headlines in the press saw Dirk van der Ven once again in February 2006, when the ex-pro with the Internet auction site eBay was auctioning his bald head, to which he wanted to get a tattoo advertising.
