Dirk Zander

Dirk Zander ( born May 13, 1965 in Hamburg ) is a German football player.

Career (player )

The midfielder Dirk Zander began his career at the Hamburg club Viktoria William Castle / Veddel. 1988 shot Zander FC St. Pauli with his 1-0 winning goal against the SSV Ulm 1846 in the Bundesliga. In 1991, Zander against Karlsruher SC at the time the fastest goal in Bundesliga history. He scored the goal already after twelve seconds. Also, the 2:0 was already after four minutes, so that Zander is still record holder of the fastest double hit. In 1991, Zander after the descent of FC St. Pauli in the Bundesliga to Dynamo Dresden, where, however, he returned again after two years. Zander was longtime captain of FC St. Pauli. Dirk Zander in 1994 was officially declared a disability sport. However, he still plays an active football in the Lower Saxony district division club TSV Eintracht Hittfeld.

Dirk Zander was until August 2007 Head of the youth training center of FC St. Pauli. He coached in front of the A- and B- Youth Regional Team, as well as the A- youth league.
