Dirtsurfing

A dirtsurfers (also inline Board ) is a sports equipment that can be used in many ways. The sport is a combination of surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding. A dirtsurfers consists of a continuous tubular aluminum frame, or of 3 parts, a layer glued wood or glass reinforced plastic cover, front frame and rear frame, a mechanical disc brake and two 20 -inch or 16-inch bicycle wheels. In addition, foot straps, which are attached to the deck to give the driver more control of the board.

Operation and Use

The dirtsurfers has a patented geometry control in which the front wheel is suspended in front of and below the wheel axle by means of the swing arm. The weight of the driver and the Nachläuferprinzips, the front wheel will settle automatically and gives the inline board stability and security.

You can go on virtually all surfaces on and off the road and in combination with a " kite " or sailing.

History

The dirtsurfers was invented in Australia by Graeme Attey 1997. Originally dirtsurfers was intended primarily for driving on the beach and therefore did not have any brakes. However, it quickly became apparent that a dirtsurfers inline board is ideal for higher speeds and also for other substrates. Therefore, at first bicycle shoe brakes have been integrated. Meanwhile, the dirtsurfers are almost exclusively equipped with disc brakes. The sport has ( since about 2002) widespread in recent years in the U.S. and in Europe. Many of the drivers are indeed " Boarder " ( skateboarders, snowboarders or Longboarder ), but you must have no board sports experience to drive a dirtsurfers.

Important races

Since 2002 races are held in different disciplines. Since 2005 dirtsurfers inline -boarding is also the official competition discipline of the International Gravity Sports Association ( IGSA ).
