Disney California Adventure
Disney California Adventure Park ( until May 2010 " Disney 's California Adventure Park ") is a theme park in the Walt Disney Company in Anaheim, California. Together with the nearby theme park Disneyland is one which opened on 8 February 2001 Park Disneyland Resort. With an estimated 5.7 million visitors (8th place ) was one of the park in 2007 among the 20 most visited amusement parks in North America.
Regions
The park is divided into five areas: Buena Vista Street & Sunshine Plaza, Paradise Pier, The Golden State, Hollywood Pictures Backlot, " A Bug 's Land" and " Cars Land ".
Buena Vista Street & Sunshine Plaza
The main entrance leads into the Buena Vista Street, reminiscent of the 1920s Los Angeles. The visitor must go through shortly after the entrance under a replica of the Golden Gate Bridge. The Buena Vista Street is the same concept as the Main Street in Disneyland and Magic Kingdom. It leads visitors past the middle of the park at souvenir shops.
At the end of Buena Vista Street, the visitor comes in the middle of the park, called Sunshine Plaza. A replica of the California Zephyr can be found there. At the end of the path there is a fountain with a large metal sun. From the Sunshine Plaza to all other regions of the park can be achieved.
The Golden State
The Golden State is divided into five areas: Condor Flats, Grizzly Peak Recreation Area, Golden Vine Winery, Bayside and Pacific Wharf.
The Condor Flats were modeled on the Mojave Desert. In them there is the attraction Soarin ' Over California, which has been realized as well in the 50 -year anniversary of Walt Disney World's Epcot. Grizzly Peak Recreation Area is modeled after California's national parks and is home to the river rafting attraction Grizzly River Run Redwood Creek Challenge Trail and, with a playground and a show with the theme of Brother Bear. There is also a direct trip to the Near Disney 's Grand Californian Hotel. The Golden Vine Winery is Napa Valley inspired, which is famous for wine growing. In addition to wine tastings, visitors will find there a changing exhibition at Walt Disney Imagineering Blue Sky Cellar, showing the planned improvements to the park. Bayside is named after the San Francisco Bay Area and it is a small copy of the Palace of Fine Arts. The main attraction is a film about California Golden Deams with Whoopi Goldberg in the lead role. Pacific Wharf has been inspired by the novel The Cannery, which plays in Monterey. In this complex there are mainly several restaurants and catering stands.
Hollywood Pictures Backlot
The Hollywood Pictures Backlot is modeled on a Backlot of a Hollywood film studios and has as main attraction the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Further attractions are several 3D movies and shows like Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!, Disney's Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular or Muppet Vision 3 -D. Both Muppet Vision 3 - D and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror are copies of the same attractions at Disney 's Hollywood Studios.
Paradise Pier
The Paradise Pier is an artificial pier on a lake. It includes many classic, showman -like thrill rides such as the roller coaster California Screamin ', carousels, a teetering ship and others.
A section is modeled on the historic Route 66. A Highway, which connected Chicago with California, and then presented the main traffic artery of the United States.
" A Bug 's Land"
This region is the Pixar film A Bug 's Life modeled. For this purpose, a set was designed, which makes the world seem from the perspective of an insect. So large grasses and plants with oversized leaves are present. The main attraction in this region is a 3D movie with additional effects such as the use of smoke machines and built- in seat mechanical effects.
