Distance line

A rope or diving submersible leash is a rope that is used to assist in diving. The rope is mainly used for diving safety, for example as Ariadne's thread to retrieve the return path for cave diving. When ice diving, skin diving, a guide wire along the planned dive route is often used, with which the diver can also connect through a safety line. In poor visibility, a partner leash can be used in order not to lose contact with the buddy. Also for attaching buoys ropes are used. When drift diving whitewater safety lines can be useful on or in the water.

When carrying a cable as part of the diving equipment, it is wound onto a spool. Sometimes a distinction is made between roles with crank ( reel ), which can be used as a winch, and simple bobbin ( spool ).
