District of Galicia

District of Galicia (1941-1944) commonly referred to a the German Reich during the Second World War occupied, but not broken down into its territory of the Reich territory of the Soviet Union. The area belonged to the Republic of Poland until 1939 and were after the September 17, 1939 due to the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact initially occupied by the Soviet Union and after the German attack on the Soviet Union by the German Reich. As CdZ area, it became a part of the General Government. The district of Galicia was formed similar to the existing already in the General Government districts Krakow, Lublin, Radom and Warsaw and formally established on 1 August 1941.

With the incorporation of the new district of Galicia, the new Eastern Railway District Directorate Galicia was built. However, this could take over the route network from the main railway management Kiev on 1 December 1941.
