Disulfoton is an insecticide and belongs to the class of dithiophosphoric.
History
When a chemical spill in 1986 in the Swiss Hall the entire eel population of the Rhine succeeded by forming in the river disulfoton and other chemicals was practically killed. In Karlsruhe, after almost 400 km flow path, a peak concentration of 25 ug / l has been measured.
Use
Disulfoton is a selective insecticide and acaricide, which is particularly effective against sucking insects. It is used on cotton, tobacco, sugar beet, corn, wheat, peanut and potato fields against aphids, thrips and spider mites.
