Dischwefeldibromid is an inorganic chemical compound of the sulfur from the group consisting of bromides.
Production and representation
Dischwefeldibromid can be obtained by reaction of sulfur with bromine or sulfur monochloride with hydrogen bromide.
Properties
Dischwefeldibromid is a dark red, oily, glass non-wetting liquid, which decomposes with water to form hydrogen bromide, sulfur dioxide and sulfur. You dissociated upon heating in the elements and is therefore only in high vacuum distilled without decomposition. It has an orthorhombic crystal structure in the solid state.
