Dittligsee

The Dittligsee is a lake in the municipality of forestry Längenbühl near the villages Blumenstein and Wattenwil west of Thun in the canton of Bern, Switzerland.

Location

The Dittligsee lies on 652 meters near the mouth of the brook in the case Gürbe, ie on the border with flat bottom Guerbetal. The lake is completely surrounded by reeds. The inflow is carried by drainage leads, while the lake also flows off in the event stream and thus into the Gürbe.

Environment

The lake is situated on the edge of the Alps in a small valley. The landscape in the immediate vicinity of the lake is hilly and mostly treeless, except for a few isolated stands of trees, which focus mainly on the southern and western shores.

Use

It is just a small pier at the west end, otherwise the lake is practically inaccessible.

Water pollution

Due to the high nutrient inputs ( especially phosphorus ) is the Dittligsee very eutrophic. Investigations of the Water Protection Office of the Canton of Bern have shown that total phosphorus and the oxygen deficit are higher than average as a result of the summer in the lower water layers.
