Diuma

Diuma (also Dwyna and Duma ) was the first bishop of the Anglo-Saxon Kingdom of Mercia. At the same time he was also bishop of the Kingdom of Lindsey and the territory of the means fishing.

Diuma was an Irish cleric who first appeared in the year 653 in appearance, as he was one of the priests who Peada, the son of the pagan king of Mercia, Penda, before the ceremony Peadas the daughter of the Northumbrian king Oswiu, Alhflaed, christened.

After the death of Penda at the Battle of Winwaed 655 Diuma was consecrated by Finan of Lindisfarne bishop Mercia. However, the exact boundaries of the diocese are no longer detectable.

According to Bede, he did not rule long. The exact date of death Diumas is unknown, but it can not have been later than the year 659. His successor was Ceollach.
