Diwali Riddim

Diwali is a successful dancehall riddim, which was produced in 2002 by Steven ' Lenky ' Marsden for the Jamaican Label 40/40 Productions. It was named after the Hindu festival of lights Diwali.

The riddim was the hits Get Busy by Sean Paul, Never Leave You (Uh Oooh, Uh Oooh! ) U.S. rapper Lumidee and No Letting Go by Wayne Wonder known. The Greensleeves Rhythm Album # 27 contains 20 other recordings of Jamaican artists such as Bounty Killer, Elephant Man and Anthony B.

The riddim is driving and hypnotic at 100 bpm, which is caused by Indian -sounding Clapping ( Clapping ) in a complex rhythm patterns. The riddim was partially adapted from producer Lenky for individual artists with the help of synthesizer melodies (for example, Wayne Wonder, Sean Paul and Wayne Marshall). Usually, however, the Diwali Riddim consists only of the Groove of a rhythm section. For this reason, the riddim is compatible with many songs and is therefore often used outside the dancehalls for remixes. Successful was the Diwali version of Dance With You of Bhangra singer Rishi Rich Jay Sean and Juggy with.

In the wake of Diwali success more riddims appeared in the following years with Clapping elements, the best known was the then named Clappas riddim. The riddim was further audible influence on the song Hey Mamavon the Black Eyed Peas (the same basic rhythm of the kick drum and the use of claps ).
