Diyarbekir Eyalet

The Eyalet Diyar -ı Bekr ( Ottoman Turkish: Eyalet -i Diyar -ı Bekr ) or the Diyar -ı Bekr Beylerbeyliği was founded in 1515 Ottoman Eyalet. Its center was Amed, today's Diyarbakir.

History

After the Aq Qoyunlu the Persian Safavids in the 16th century rulers of the region in eastern Anatolia were. On August 23, 1514, the Ottoman Empire defeated the Safavids in the Battle of Chaldiran and so pushed out the Safavids from Anatolia.

The city of Diyarbakir was conquered in 1527 under the leadership of Mehmet Pasha Biyikli for the Ottomans, who then made ​​the town the provincial capital. Structure
