Deep Dance

His Deep Dance Mixes (also called Deep Mix ), are bootleg megamixes. From the late 1980s until mid-2000 DJ Deep was responsible for 66 episodes of the popular in European remixers Scene CDs, which enjoyed great popularity at record fairs. The mixes partially illegally produced included 70 songs per CD ( some have 100 songs per CD). But the Deep Dance Vol 50 in a silver embossed tin as a shell sold over a million copies ( see picture). On this, which appeared as a double CD successful of all Deep Dance Mixes total of 400 titles were used from the 1980s and 1990s. Published in 1997, represents the Deep Dance 50 a kind of " Best of Deep" ( 1987-1997 ) dar. Due to the success of the mix was released in 2004 as a video CD again and backed with video sequences from Japanese anime films ( Deep Animix ). Very successful was the "Studio 33, 23rd Story, Single Top 100 1998 ', a hybrid of all the songs that were then represented in the charts. This Megamix is still considered the best megamix of all time and is a milestone in pop history.

The unlawfulness of mixes based on the fact that the musicians did not receive any royalties for their participation, eg not valid for Germany GEMA fees. The GEMA is the Deep Dance on record since 1993. Proponents argue that many songs were known by this popular mixes of the public only. Meanwhile, DJ Deep produces only legal mixes, see below However, the successful Mixserie found many illegal freeloaders that they continue to continue. DJ Deep was influenced by the Dutch remixer Ben Liebrand. An important feature of all Deep Dance and Studio 33 episodes is to integrate new unreleased songs ( mostly from the dance area) in the mix. Many of them then reached high positions in the charts. This also applies to the illegal "fake " releases from the year 2000 for the series Deep Dance / Studio 33 In addition, some side series have been published, eg Deep Fox (genre: pop and disco) and Studio 33 "Party Compilation", these series were continued from 2000, but from other DJs.

Illegality

Towards the end of the 80 tapes Deeps first came on unknown paths in a CD pressing plant. An enthusiastic acquaintance took over the marketing. DJ Deep created a fee the mixes and delivered only the master tape. The higher numbers of the Deep Dance music got a larger distribution. The CDs were sold from 1992 to flea markets and in specialized record shops " under the counter " for a price of approximately 30 to 50 German marks, similar to some time the pirated editions. Widespread was the " direct sales " to DJs in nightclubs. The Düsseldorf inches estimates the actual purchase price of these mixes - which are preferably molded in Eastern Europe - between 3 to 5 German Mark.

What began in the party room for DJ Deep in the late 1980s as a hobby with a double cassette deck, was in the 1990s to a huge commercial success for the scene. Mixerfahrungen Peine had already through his work as a DJ in the now-closed nightclub Glass Palace in Dinslaken. With the new financial windfall, it was DJ Deep able to expand his studio constantly. The 2-track, and later, the 8-track Revox tape machine was soon replaced by digital devices. Now also for the " Deep Mix " characteristic Keysampling was possible.

Since DJ Deep but further made use of copyrighted material and, for example, did not pay GEMA fees, state power became aware of him. Primarily, it was more about suspected tax evasion as the breach of copyright. The same holds true for his Mixkollegen Studio 33 GEMA calculated solely with Deep Dance series with an estimated economic loss of about 150,000 German marks per year.

Condemnation

The district court sentenced eating all those involved because of tax evasion and a commercial manufacturing of illegal recordings with sensitive suspended sentences. For the distributor, there were prison sentences. Andreas Peine and Uwe Jagusch received a fine.

The bootleg story took place on 5 June 2000 to a sudden end when approximately 50 participants, who were involved in the distribution and manufacturing, were arrested at various house searches.

The operators of the fan website www.deepdance.de had to go through a search. The investigators went to arrest that were taken on a newsletter sign-up form orders. This suspicion has been found to be baseless. The domain is now in the hands of Peine.

According to a statement from Peine to it have been because of a dispute debt and have called the police the name of a party 's ex-girlfriend. Since then, DJ Deep has nothing to do with newly released bootlegs. Since 2003, published Andreas Peine mixes on legal double albums reach the regular high positions in the German album charts. A typical hallmark of Deep Dance Yearmixe is the announcement of the date of the relevant year in the intro: either " One -Nine -Nine ... " for 1990 and "Two -Zero -Zero ... " for the 2000s Yearmixe. Since Peine has its jingles " Deep Dance ", "hits after hits" and "Deep is deep" cut together self-published from a capella versions of songs it was only a matter of time before running boards driver to your mixes furnished them with the same jingles. Therefore, Peine additional jingles " You're in the mix with DJ Deep" and "Welcome to the wildest party on the planet", followed by " Siren Sound" developed, which are used only in its real mixing. Since 2002, Peine published his popular " Yearmix shows " usually in February of the following year exclusively in the " Web radio ". The Deep Yearmix Show 2013 - appeared on 19 February 2014.
