DJ Sakin

DJ Sakin ( born June 14, 1971, Sakin Bozkurt actually ) is a German trance DJ and record producer of Turkish descent.

Biography

Sakin Bozkurt was born in Turkey, but grew up in Germany. At the age of 16, he began to operate as a DJ. In 1990 he became a resident DJ at Club Wartburg in Wiesbaden and later in the music hall in Frankfurt. His first production What Is House? he published in 1994 on vinyl by the label Liquid Records by Torsten Stenzel.

In 1998 he founded together with Torsten Stenzel and singer Janet Taylor the music project DJ Sakin & Friends. Their debut single Protect Your Mind was a great success, reaching number 4 in the UK and # 3 in the German single charts. In Germany, the single reached gold status and was nominated " National Dance Single of the Year " at the Echo Awards 1999 in the category. The song is a trance version of James Horner's theme song for Mel Gibson's film Braveheart. The follow-up single Nomansland again reached numerous chart positions. This song contained samples of classical music the composer Vladimir Cosma Romanian film. Published in 1999, the trio released their debut album Walk on Fire.
