DJ Scotch Egg

DJ Scotch Egg ( born Shigeru ' Shige ' Ishihara ) is a chiptune, gabber and breakcore musician. Ishihara lives in Brighton UK, but originally from Tokyo. His stage name is a homage to the Scottish national dish of Scotch eggs. Shige is also known under the name Shiez 2000 and Scotch Grind.

It time for the sound generation mainly up to four reprogrammed Game Boys, which he then turned into sequencers. In live performances, he often calls improvised gibberish, which he greatly distorted to an effector and alienated.

History

In 2005 he released his first album on KFC Core Adaadat. In the spring of 2007, followed Scotch Hausen, which mainly consists of reinterpretations of classic works on Wrong Music. 2008, the third album Drumized appeared on Load Records, on the jazz improvisations are first heard.

He collaborated among others with Ove - Naxx, Hrvatski, Mike Paradinas, Duracell, Bong -Ra, The Pipettes and The Go! Team. Shige took improvisations with Ashley Marlowe and Sam Dook under the name Same Things.

Since 2008, Shigeru Ishihara plays bass in the newly founded British rock band Seefeel.
