DJ Sneak

DJ Sneak (born in 1970 in Puerto Rico, Carlos Sosa actually ) is a Puerto Rican house DJ and producer. He has over 15 years worldwide and with over 600 publications, he has dominated the scene like no other. Despite his success and influence on the genre, he has never tried to be a star, such as one of his former colleagues Armand Van Helden. Rather, he tries to use to this day his fame to spread his now -forgotten style of the House.

Life

Sosa is drawn 1983 at the age of 13 years with his family from the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico to Chicago. At this time originated in the city of the roots of the House genre, which inspired Carlos sustainable. After an artist, he was a long time active as graffiti, he came across a job as a DJ with the music in contact, which should henceforth determine his future resume. In the following years he worked at the legendary DJ record shop Gramaphone Records, where he refined his DJ skills and other well-known DJs met. At the same time he also began to deal with producing and founded his first label Defiant Records. In 1992 he began tracks with a new style take, which henceforth became his trademark. 1994 Carlos met Cajmere ( Green Velvet), the on Relief Records, a subsidiary label of his label Cajual Records, published several of his works and thus helped him to worldwide fame in the scene. Since then, DJ Sneak is a synonym for a particular Filtered Disco House of also influenced the creation of big names such as Daft Punk, Armand Van Helden and Basement Jaxx in the following years. In 1997 he released the track "You Can not Hide from your Bud ' of today is probably his most famous work and became one of the club anthems of the year. After 2001, when the European house sound more and more gained in importance, it became a little quiet around him on the international scene. He is now back more of the American scene, or attributable to the underground, but also continues to play International, albeit less frequently. The year 2008 can be regarded as a kind of comeback of the artist. He tried through a variety of productions (previously 20 ) on numerous labels and very many appearances to put on festivals and clubs back into the consciousness of the people. On his last active label Magnetic he can now, after a two year hiatus, due to the poor sales in the U.S., now publish a German distributor four EPs with new tracks.

Although he was heavily influenced by the circumstances in Chicago, draws Carlos in 1997 to Toronto ( Canada ), where he lives today. The city and her house scene have much in common for it with his previous home, but without gang crime or violence.

Productions

DJ Sneak belongs to one of the most active producers in the electronic field. With hundreds of tracks ( own and remixes for other artists ) and numerous mix CDs and compilations his discography is barely manageable. He spends quite often 12 hours in their own studio and tries whenever he is inspired to transform his thoughts on the way in notes and later in the studio in music. For his continued productivity he was even called a joke for some time " Sneak A Weak" by his colleagues scene and therefore began to publish under other pseudonyms his Music. These tracks are no different from his previous work, and are, as he says, easy to unmask the typical sneak sound. Currently tracks only appear under the real artist's name in order to increase its visibility.
