Djedankhre Montemsaf

Djedanchre Mentuemsaf (also Montemsaf ) was an Egyptian King (Pharaoh) of the Second Intermediate Period (ca. 1780-1550 BC).

Djedanchre Mentuemsaf is so far known only from a block of Gebelein, an ax blade and two scarabs.

Classification

Its exact position is uncertain. Kim Ryholt puts him in his 16th Dynasty, Jürgen von Beckerath in the 13th Dynasty. Since the rulers appear in any list of kings, but any chronological setting remains speculative for now. His throne name is x ra using the model Dd . It is therefore usually placed in the temporal proximity with other rulers of this name Education ( Djedhotepre Dedumose, Djedneferre Dedumose ). But these other rulers have so far not really sure either to classify.
