Djibril Bassolé

Djibril Bassolé Yipènè ( born November 30, 1957 in Nouna, Upper Volta, now Burkina Faso) is a politician from the West African state of Burkina Faso. He is since 2007, Foreign Minister of the country.

Career

Bassolé completed a military career until he Deputy Minister of National Security in 1999. In November 2000, he became the minister in this department until he was appointed by Prime Minister Tertius Zongo, succeeding Youssouf Ouedraogo foreign minister of Burkina Faso on 10 June 2007.

On May 9, 2013 Bassolé made ​​involuntarily a stir when he was in Ankara suffered a fainting spell during a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu and had to be rushed to a hospital. He could but a little later record his duties again.
