Career

Association

AJ Auxerre

Cissé's parents came in 1974 from the Ivory Coast to France. In his youth, Cissé played for AC Arles -Avignon and Nîmes Olympique. His professional career began in the 2000 /01 season in the French first division club AJ Auxerre. In the 2001 /02 season he was top scorer in France with 22 goals. In 2004 he was again with Auxerre French Cup winner and with 26 goals scorer.

Liverpool FC

Before the season 2004/ 05 he moved for a transfer fee of 20 million euros to England for Liverpool FC. On 30 October 2004, he suffered a tibia and fibula fracture in his left leg and thus fell for the whole season off. In 2005 he won the Champions League with Liverpool. In 2005 Supercup against CSKA Moscow, he scored in a 3-1 win after extra two goals.

Olympique Marseille

In the summer of 2006, he was transferred on loan to Marseille. With Marseille in 2007 he reached the cup final, where he 's 2-2 aet scored both goals and also scored his penalty in the penalty shoot-out; Marseille defeated by FC Sochaux yet. He scored for Marseille in 27 games 15 goals in his first season, including seven Cup goals. Add to that the second league place qualifying for the Champions League. In his second season he scored in the first round only twice and has been heavily criticized. In the second round he met then 14 times in the league and helped Marseille that it still managed to third place and the criticism ceased. In all competitions, Cissé managed 22 goals in his second season for Olympique Marseille.

In July 2007, Marseille secured for 8.9 million euros over five years the rights to Cissé, who saw no chance at Liverpool.

Loan to Sunderland

A few weeks after start of the season 2008/ 09, the player moved on loan to Sunderland AFC.

Panathinaikos Athens

Ten months later, Marseille sold it for 8.5 million euro to Panathinaikos Athens. In the following season he was with Greek Panathinaikos champion, Greek Cup winner and secured the title of best scorers. In the following season he again secured the title of best scorers in Greece.

Lazio Rome

For a transfer fee of 5.8 million euros Cissé joined in July 2011 to Lazio, where he, however, in 18 point games managed just one hit on the side of Miroslav Klose.

Queens Park Rangers

Due to its unsatisfactory performance he agreed to during the winter break to seek transfer for 5 million euro to the Queens Park Rangers.

Al- Gharafa Sports Club

January 20, 2013 until end of season Cissé was awarded in the Qatar Stars League at the Al- Gharafa Sports Club. He scored on matchday 2 of the AFC Champions League match against Sepahan FC its first double for Al- Gharafa.

About Russia back to France

For the 2013/14 season, he joined the Russian Premjer League to FC Kuban Krasnodar; six months later he signed, however, a 18-month contract with the French first division club SC Bastia.

National

Cissé went through some junior national teams of France. His greatest achievement was winning the U-18 European Championship 2000. In the 2000 /01 season he played in the squad of the French senior national teams.

He belonged to the France squad for the disappointing 2002 World Cup, and came in all three games as a substitute for use. In summer 2003, he won the Confederations Cup with France. He scoring a goal in the group stage.

For the 2006 World Cup in Germany Cissé was one of the hopefuls of the French national team. However, he suffered in the last test match of France before the World Cup against China on 7 June 2006 for the umpteenth time a right-side tibia and fibula fracture and fell for the World Cup from. The 2008 European Football Championship he missed despite a successful season with Marseille. Although he was a member of the extended EM squad, but fell just before the tournament starts the surprising nomination Bafetimbi Gomis ' victim. After almost two years, he came back in March 2010 for the A national team for use and was also used in the Football World Cup 2010 in a game.
