Dlhá nad Kysucou

Dlhá nad Kysucou is a municipality in the north - central Slovakia with 628 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2011), which belongs to Okres Čadca, a part of the Žilinský.

Geography

The municipality is located in Javorník Mountains on several streams that belong to the river system Kysuca. The 12.26 km ² large municipality is covered by brown forest soils and scattered forests. The center is located at an altitude of 520 m nm and is three kilometers from Turzovka and 17 kilometers away from Čadca.

History

As a unit, the community was founded only in 1954, before all the individual settlements were part of the communities Turzovka ( 1949-1954 ) and Dlhé poles (up to 1949). Parts were also in the municipalities of Divina and Nesluša.

Population

According to the 2011 census lived in Dlhá nad Kysucou 633 inhabitants, of whom 588 Slovaks, Ukrainians, 5, 2 and 1 Poland Czech. 37 inhabitants did not know. 566 residents pleaded with the Roman Catholic Church, 8 inhabitants to the Orthodox Church, 2 neighbors to the Greek Catholic Church and one population to the Czechoslovak- Hussite Church. 6 inhabitants were non-denominational and 50 inhabitants, the denomination is not determined.
