The homeobox protein DLX- 6 is a protein for which the encoding gene present in humans DLX6.

The gene encoded as a representative of the homeobox transcription factor gene family, the genes are very similar to " Distal-less " of Drosophila. The gene family has at least six members, which encode proteins that play a role in the forebrain and the development of the facial skeleton. The gene is located in a configuration with other members of the gene family on the long arm of chromosome 7
