Dmitri Orlov

Dmitri Vladimirovich Orlov (Russian: Дмитрий Владимирович Орлов; * July 23, 1991 in Novokuznetsk, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who is since February 2011 the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League contract.

Career

Dmitri Orlov began his career as a hockey player in his hometown Metallurg Novokuznetsk in, for its professional team, he made his debut in the Super League during the 2007/08 season at the age of 16 years. In his debut season he was point and impunity in six games. In the 2008 /09 season he was mainly for Metallurgs second team in the third-tier league Perwaja active and played for the professional team total of 16 games in the Kontinental Hockey League newly established. Nevertheless, foreign talent scouts were attentive early on the defender and the Washington Capitals selected him in the NHL Entry Draft in 2009 in the second round than a total of 55 players.

In the 2009/10 season Orlov remained in his native Russia and earned itself a place in the KHL Metallurg Novokuznetsk team for which he in 41 games seven points scorer, with four goals scored. Moreover, he proved his goalscoring for Metallurgs Junior team in the Junior League multinational Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja league than him in 24 games 32 scorer points, including 16 goals reach. In the season 2010/11, the junior national team again increased in the KHL and set his record points over the previous year already mid-season. In February 2011, Orlov was obliged for a try-out of the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.

Internationally

For Russia Orlov took the U18 World Junior Championships in 2008 and 2009, as well as the U20 World Junior Championships in 2010 and 2011 in part. In his two appearances at the U18 World Youth Championship, he finished with his team each second. In 2009 he was also elected as one of the three best Russian player of the tournament. In his second U20 World Junior Championship to him in 2011 with Russia succeeded in winning the gold medal. At the World Cup, where he was one of two assistant captains in his team, he added, with a goal and eight assists to win the title. He was the best presentation giver of all defenders in the tournament, for which he was rewarded with the choice in the All-Star team.
