Dobrá (Frýdek-Místek District)

Dobra ( German Mining oak wood, polish Dobra ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers east of Frýdek- Místek and belongs to Okres Frýdek- Místek.

Geography

Dobra is located on the right bank of the Morávka in Beskidenvorland. To the south, the hill rises Vrchy ( 433 m). East of the village lies the substation Nošovice and the premises of Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech. Through the town, the railway line from Frýdek- Místek leads to Český Těšín, north leads past the expressway R 48, which also connects these two cities.

Neighboring towns are Bruzovice and Pazderna in the north, and Vojkovice in the northeast, Bukovice and Dobratice in the east, in the southeast Nošovice, Na Kamenci and Skalice in the south, Zbytky the southwest, Staré Město and Frýdek the west and Sedliště in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of Dobra dates from the year 1305. In medieval writings of the place is given as Dobra Zemice, Dobrozemice or with the German name Good country. From 1417 onwards, the town was named in connection with a native of Upper Silesia Vladikengeschlecht the Vlcek of Dobra Zemice, which had its seat in the festivities and for about 150 years was the owner of the village. At the end of the 16th century came from a church, 34 settlers points, a stately inn, a fish pond and three mills existing village to rule Friedeck. Since 1568 a school in Dobra is detectable, were taught the children from all over the Fried Ecker Beskidenvorland. Eusebius Franz Graf von Oppersdorf was replaced in 1682 the old wooden church shot through a stone building.

From 1850 formed the Mining oak wood a municipality in the district of Teschen. At the end of the 19th century the craft flourished in the town. From 1908 the town belonged to the district Friedeck. During the German occupation of the Mining oak wood border town of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia was the German Reich and was a customs station. In the middle of the 20th century a barracks was built on the site of a disused factory, which existed until 1999. After the Second World War Nošovice was assigned to the Okres Místek and came in 1961 after the dissolution of the Okres Frýdek- Místek.

Dobra is a cultural and social center for the villages of Beskidenvorlandes.

Attractions

  • Baroque parish church of St. George, built between 1682-1686. In 1816, the cultivation of the tower was carried out. In 1883, two chapels of the Pure Hearts of Jesus and Mary were grown. Previously magnificent St. George's pilgrimages were organized in such a well, the Russian Tsar Alexander I was present.
