Dobšice (České Budějovice District)

Dobsice ( German Dobschitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers south-east of Tyn nad Vltavou.

History

The first written evidence dates from 1437 from a confirmation of Emperor Sigismund for Diepolt of giant mountain on its heritage. 1528 Oldrich Radkovský z Mirovic Lord on Dobsice who follow him more noble families, including the Sternberger, to the place in 1711 came to the Schwarzenberg.

In 1909, the volunteer fire department Dobsice was established, which is also culturally very active and organizes the Firemen's Ball and summer festivals for children.

To the east of the village is a former military training area, which the municipality intends to manage.

The municipality owns the farm Branovice, which was already mentioned in 1396 as property of the rule Zimutice. The Berni rula shows him in 1654 as a noble residence. After several changes of ownership of the land belonging to the farm was divided in the land reform in the First Republic after 1920 and sold the farm to Matěj Sýkorov, whose descendants own it still.

In Dobsice there is a local library and a cultural center, that the center of village life is and was renovated in 1989. There is also a grocery store.
