Dolánky nad Ohří

Nad Ohri Dolánky ( German Dolanek ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located eight kilometers south of Litoměřice an der Eger and belongs to Okres Litoměřice.

Geography

The village is located on the right side of Eger, at the foot of the 209 m high hill Skala. By Dolánky leads the state road 608 between Terezin and Doksany. One and a half kilometers north of the railway runs from Lovosice after Roudnice where the next train stop in Hrdly is.

Neighboring towns are Hrdly in the north, Oleško in the northeast, Skala and Rohatce the southeast, Doksany in the south, Brozany nad Ohri and Rochov in the southwest and Brňany and Bohušovice nad Ohri in the northwest.

History

Dolánky was first documented in 1057 in founding the collegiate St. Stefan in Litoměřice by Duke Spytihněv II. On the opposite bank of the Eger was at that time the village Pelesch, the Přemysl Otakar I. 1226 donated the monastery Doksany. Below Dolánky was on the river of the place Dolany, whose owner was before 1400 the Leitmeritzer Castellan Bleha.

When Egerhochwasser 1461 Pelesch was swept away by the floods and leave Dolany because of its location in the floodplain.

In 1900, 647 people lived in Dolánky.
