The dolganische language ( dolgan. Долган тыла / Dolgan tyla ) is the language of Dolgan, a small group of Indigenous Peoples of the Russian North. It belongs to the northeastern Turkic languages and is particularly closely related to the neighboring Yakut. The linguistic differences between the two languages are very low, so as Yakut Dolgan the Dolganische often regarded as a dialect of Yakut.
Numbers of speakers
In 1989, reported in the census of 6945 Dolgans still 5,100 people Dolganisch as a mother tongue. As a second language gave some Evenki and Nganasans to Dolganisch, so that this language to some extent acts as a " lingua franca ". As a parent roof language most Dolgans see today in the Yakut and view their language as a mere dialect of this language.
Alphabets
The literacy dolganischen language took place in the 1920s on the basis of the Latin alphabet. Since 1940, the font was changed to a modified Cyrillic alphabet, which essentially coincides with the Yakut. In addition, another is still needed, which is identical to the alphabet of the Russians.
