Ďolíček

The Dolicek is a football stadium in the district of Prague Vršovice. It is the venue of the football club Bohemians 1905. Within the stadium are 6,863 seats available.

History

The old Dolicek ( 1914-1932 )

Since its inception in 1905 AFK Vršovice played on different courses. 1912 began with the support of the industrialist Jindřich forest, the construction of a soccer field near the former factory forest, today Koh -i-Noor, which was completed in 1914. Opening of the stadium was on 19 August 1914 the capacity was 6,000 spectators. Because of its trough-like situation was the place quickly Dolicek, so mine, or more precisely, small pit called. In the late 1920s, the AFK Vršovice had renamed after a tour of Australia in AFK Bohemians, the Dolicek was too small especially in top games, the capacity is no longer enough for the rush of the top Czech clubs.

The new Dolicek (since 1932)

In this situation, the then chairman of the AFK Bohemians Zdeněk Danner suggested a new building. Danner (1888 - 1936), business consultants, financial experts and officials, had been little previously elected as club chairman, where he was to make his social and financial impact for the club claims. The director of the local citizens Checkout got the necessary funds from 1930 to 1932 was a few hundred meters from the old to a new stadium built. The necessary grandstand was dismantled in Klusácký stadium in Letna area and rebuilt by the stream Botič on which stood the new building.

Was opened the stadium on Easter Sunday, March 27, 1932, the game AFK Bohemians against Slavia Prague as part of a four- tournament at the Viktoria Zizkov and FK Teplice participated. Bohemians lost against the incumbent Czechoslovak champion Slavia 1:3. The capacity of the new stadium was 18,000 spectators, it was officially Dannerův stadion Bohemians, an appropriate inscription was attached to the canopy of the main grandstand, which was not centered, but slightly offset. The back straight was completely covered and offered standing room, as well as the two uncovered Located behind where it was wooden structures.

Colloquially, the stadium was initially called Dannerák, first in the 1960s, the name of the first stadium was transferred to the building from the year 1932. Originally equipped with an ash covering 1950/51 a grass surface was laid in 1955 got the Dannerák a simple flood light, which was replaced in 1966 by one, corresponded to the international requirements. Four years later, the main stand was demolished and replaced by a new building, which extended over the entire length of the pitch and 3,020 seats offered. Before a concert of American singer Tina Turner in 1996, the southern stand behind was mined until 2007, the stadium was expanded so that only three sides. Renovated in the stadium in 2002/ 03 to meet ligové stadiony 2003 the project, the capacitance decreased from 13,388 to about 9,000. Due to the rise of the team in the Gambrinus Liga 2007 all remaining standing room had to be converted into seats, so the All- Seater Dolicek offers nurmehr 6,863 spectators. Here tubular steel grandstand was built on the southern Hintertorseite on which is now the sector for the visiting fans.
