Terradellas was probably a chorister under Francesc Valls, but so far this has not been unequivocally proven. On May 23, 1732 he was inducted into Naples on Conservatore Sant ' Onofrio and studied under Francesco Durante. For Carnival 1739 was in Rome performed his first opera, his first great success was the performance of opera seria Merope. 1744, the world premiere of his Artaserse took place in Venice.

From 1743 to 1745 Terradellas church conductor was in Rome, he was appointed as Director at the King's Theatre in London. From 1747 he lived in Paris, before returning to Italy in 1750. Here in 1750 Didone Abbandonata ( in Turin) and Imeneo were listed in Atena ( in Venice). Terradellas died a few months after the performance of the last opera Sesostri re d' Egitto in Rome under mysterious circumstances. Apart from his operas Terradellas set to music numerous masses, motets and other church agencies, as well as some instrumentals.

Terradellas enjoyed among his contemporaries a high reputation, this highlights Jean -Jacques Rousseau in his " Lettre sur la musique francoise " from 1753, in which he listed Terradellas in a row with Nicola Porpara, Niccolò Jommelli, Baldassare Galuppi and Davide Perez.
