Domestic policy

As a domestic policy decisions, legislation, programs and the actual behavior of a state are called that apply by a government for the country 's internal affairs. It is generally considered the opposite of foreign policy, which includes the political activities of a State vis. In fact, the areas of overlap as well. Thus, the fight against crime is increasingly multinational coordinated (for example Interpol). Since the concept of internal politics may involve different areas, the concept of domestic policy is handled internationally very different. Traditionally, the following areas can contribute to domestic politics in the broader sense are counted: education policy, energy policy, health policy, internal security, tax policy, social policy, rights and obligations of the individual citizen, etc.

• In Germany belong to the internal politics in the narrow sense, the traditional questions of internal security, the citizenship law, aliens law, the right to vote, the reporting law and personal law. Domestic politics is at the federal level for the federal police, the BKA, the Federal Office for Protection of the Constitution, the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and many other authorities responsible (see also: Federal Ministry of the Interior), as well as for collective bargaining in the public service. • In Switzerland, the domestic policy is perceived by the Federal Department of the Interior. Under him are several federal agencies that are responsible for the age and survivors' insurance, research and education, cultural promotion, family policy, equality between women and men, equality of people with disabilities, anti-racism, statistics, archiving, and weather forecasts.
• In Anglo-Saxon countries such as the United States of America, the domestic policy (English domestic policy) is referred to as a comprehensive term for all political activities within a state.
