Do not Tread is the title of the published 1992 second and so far last studio album of the American supergroup Damn Yankees.

Background

In 1989, Jack Blades (bass, Night Ranger ), Tommy Shaw (vocals, guitar; Styx ), Ted Nugent (guitar) and Michael Cartellone (drums; Lynyrd Skynyrd ), the band " Damn Yankees ". In 1990 she released the album Damn Yankees, who had reached after the publication of the third coupled- Single, High Enough, No. 13 of the U.S. album charts and 1994 double-platinum status for more than 2 million units sold in the U.S. reached.

1992 started the group members, along with producer Ron Nevison, who had also produced the debut album, with the recording of the next album. A total of four tracks were released as singles, namely Do not Tread on Me, Mister Please, Where You Goin 'Now and Silence is Broken. Just Where You Goin 'Now and Silence is Broken could reach the Billboard Hot 100.

Reception

The Audio magazine wrote about the album, there was " no hearty hard rock package more soft without adding," this album has " > Where You Goin 'Now ' is the stuff of ballads train number ". The musicians involved guaranteed " a crisp tour de force without inflated muscle play, rich sound that through turning the volume control is not possible alone." The album was " a compact package."

Thomas Copper wrote in his review for the German magazine Rock Hard, the album set " continues the tradition of the debut, " there was " re ' a lot of kitsch, so Ami -mainstream varietal ," but even that such titles would still " better than the compositions over so many other self-proclaimed heroes. "Copper awarded 8.5 out of a possible 10 points and rated the album with it better than his fellow editor Wolfgang Schäfer had done the commercially successful predecessor album.

Do not Tread was awarded on 20 October 1992 in the U.S. with a gold record.
