Don Patterson (organist)

Don Patterson ( born July 22, 1936 in Columbus / Ohio, † February 10, 1988 in Philadelphia / Pennsylvania) was an American jazz organist.

Patterson received as a child piano lessons and joined with twenty years to the organ. He worked with several bands before he became known as an organist Sonny Stitt. Since 1964, he could also record their own albums, often in a trio with guitarist Pat Martino and drummer Billy James. After he had played in the 1960s, numerous albums for the Prestige label, only a few shots were due to drug problems in the 1970s.
