Donald P. Bellisario

Donald Paul Bellisario ( born August 8, 1935 in Cokeburg or North Charleroi, Pennsylvania) is an American screenwriter, director and film producer.

Life

Bellisario was born in 1935 in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. His mother Dana Lapcevic came from Serbia and his father Albert Bellisario from Italy. From 1955 to 1959 he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He studied journalism and worked as a copywriter. He later rose to vice president of a large advertising agency. In 1975 he went to Hollywood to work in the film industry. His success began in 1978 when he was only the screenplay for an episode of Pacific Squadron 214 wrote and then took over production of the series.

Bellisario is the inventor of a successful series such as JAG, NCIS, Back to the Past (English Quantum Leap ), Tequila and Bonetti, Airwolf and Magnum (together with Glen A. Larson ). In addition to David E. Kelley, Stephen J. Cannell and Glen A. Larson he counts as the most successful writers of our time series.

On 2 March 2004, the successful producer received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which can be seen in an episode of JAG. In addition to guest appearances Bellisario also led frequently directed his series, which he also produced, as a rule. He also placed family members in the productions. So played his son, Michael Bellisario in several episodes as Midshipman Michael Roberts on JAG and embodied with Charles ' Chip' Sterling in the series NCIS. In 2007 he left the production of NCIS because of disagreements with lead actor Mark Harmon. Although he has since no longer actively involved in the production, he retained the title of executive producer. His successors were Chas. Floyd Johnson and Shane Brennan.

Donald P. Bellisario is married for the fourth time and has seven children.
