Donn Trenner

Donald " Donn " Trenner ( born March 10, 1927 in New Haven, Connecticut) is an American arranger and pianist of the swing era and modern jazz. He worked with Charlie Barnet and with Charlie Parker and Stan Getz.

Life and work

Earlier in his career played separator 1943-1945 Ted Fio Rito at. Together with his wife, singer Helen Carr, he belonged in 1947 to the orchestra of Buddy Morrow. In 1948, he led a trio with her in San Francisco. 1950-51 separator worked with Charlie Barnet, also played and he arranged in 1953 with Jerry Gray, Charlie Parker, Stan Getz, Georgie Auld, Jerry Fielding, Skinnay Ennis, Les Brown, Lena Horne or Nancy Wilson. In 1957 he worked with Oscar Pettiford and Anita O'Day and 1958 in Europe. He also participated on records with Tommy Dorsey, Howard McGhee, Francis Faye, Betty Roche, Nelson Riddle and Paul Broadnax. In the 1960s he worked primarily as a studio musician, arranger and musical director for TV productions (such as Shirley MacLaine, the Steve Allen Show and Nightlife Show).
