Mandrel is a comune ( freguesia ) in a circle ( concelho ) of Ferreira do Zêzere, in Central Portugal.

Geography

The village lies on a pointed headland that juts into the river (Rio Zêzere ) into it. Since the construction of the dam of Castelo de Bode shortly before its confluence with the Tagus at Constância, similar to the Rio Zêzere way up behind the mandrel a long serpentine lake. History

Despite its remote location, the place was already inhabited by the Romans.
