Dorothee Elmiger

Dorothee Elmiger (* 1985 in Wetzikon ) is a Swiss writer.

Dorothee Elmiger went before the completion of the school some time after New Hampshire ( USA) and then took up studies in philosophy and political science in Zurich. She then studied at the Swiss Literature Institute in Biel / Bienne and spent a semester abroad at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig. In 2008 she took part in the festival in Hildesheim for young literary prose Nova. Meanwhile, she continues her studies in political science in Berlin. The author has published in various anthologies and magazines, and in 2009 was a fellow at the Klagenfurt Literature Course.

At the invitation of the Bachmann Prize juror Paul Jandl Elmiger 2010 read in the days of German literature is an extract from her novel Invitation to the reckless and won 2nd Bachmann Prize, the Kelag Prize, which is endowed with 10,000 euros. In the same year she was nominated for her novel for the Swiss Book Prize. In addition, she received the aspekte Literature Prize and the Rauris Literature Prize Two prizes for the best prose - first publication.
