Doudleby nad Orlicí

Doudleby nad Orlicí ( German Daudleb ) is a patch in the district Rychnov nad Kněžnou in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers south of the regional capital below the Kastel in the Valley of Wild Eagle.

History

Daudleb supposed to be one of the oldest towns in Eastern Bohemia. The place name goes back to the Slavic tribe of the Dudlebi that should have had a royal residence here. First mentioned was the place in 1259 with the entry of a Ulricus de Dudlebi. Even in the second half of the 14th century Daudleb was owned by this family. Over the next two centuries, the owner of the domain Daudleb which was divided to 1559 changed frequently.

1562 acquired Nicholas the Elder of Bubna and Lititz ( Mikuláš z Bubna ) the rule Daudleb. This built on the site of a 1545 mentioned festivals from 1585 to 1590 the castle Doudleby, which was first used as a hunting lodge, as the Bubna until the early 19th century resided in Senftenberg.

Since the 17th century a Jewish community was established, whose synagogue built in 1821 is now used as neuhussitische church.

Following the lifting of patrimonial became an independent municipality Daudleb middle of the 19th century. In 1890 the place 1355 inhabitants, in 1980 there were 2108 inhabitants. Since 2006, the city has the status of Městys.

The community Doudlebi nad Orlicí consists of the districts Vyhnánov (ejection ) and Doudleby ( Daudleb at the Eagle).
