Doug Russell (swimmer)

Douglas Albert Russell ( born February 20, 1946 in Midland, Texas ) is a retired American swimmer.

1967 Russell won at the Pan American Games in Winnipeg in the 100 meters butterfly and the 4x100 -meter medley relay. Both titles he also won at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City. On the butterfly route he defeated while Mark Spitz, he also relegating from the medley relay. 1969 Russell won his only university championship title in the 100 meters butterfly.
