DQS Holding GmbH, based in Frankfurt am Main is the parent company of DQS -UL Group. The company's activities include the assessment of the business processes of all kinds, as well as the certification of management systems.

History

DQS was founded in 1985 as the first German certification company in Frankfurt am Main and was also the world's third management system certification body. The target was the founding partners DGQ ( German Society for Quality Association) and DIN (German Institute for Standardization ) primarily to promote the German economy.

The founding predates accompanied by the publication of the first draft of the ISO 9000 series of standards with today's world the most important quality standard ISO 9001. In 1986, the DQS Certification in Germany was the first to issue a certificate in accordance with ISO 9001.
