Draco timoriensis

The Flying Dragons ( Draco ) are a genus of lizards of the family Agamidae ( Agamidae ).

The lizards live in trees in the rainforests of Southeast Asia, especially on the islands of the Malay Archipelago and the Philippines.

The 20 to 26 centimeters long kites carry five to eight elongated ribs wing membranes with which they can sail in gliding from tree to tree. Mostly they bridge a few meters, but also to glide up to 60 meters in length capable. The skin sails, as well as the throat pouch are often colored colorful and collapsed sideways at rest on the body backwards.

Kites feed on insects, mainly tree-dwelling ants.

Only for reproduction, the animals are on the ground, so as to bury their up to four eggs.
