Dragan Holcer

Dragan Holcer ( born January 19, 1945 in Zwiesel ) is a former Yugoslav football player.

Sports career

Holcer came as a passionate handball player stumbled football: Nis youth players were sought for the local football club Radnički and although he wanted to watch, he was sent to a sample game, along with only one other young people, was added.

His professional career started 1963/64, when he played for Radnički Niš for the first time in the first Yugoslav league at that time as a winger while he was employed for the majority of his career as a defender. After his move to Hajduk Split in 1967, he was three times Yugoslav champion and three- time Cup winner. After he had successfully survived a lengthy injury in the season 1974/75, he moved to VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga 2, with the 1977 promotion to the Bundesliga. After 106 league games and scoring a goal, he played 1981/82 Schalke 04 one more season in the 2nd Bundesliga.

Between 1965 and 1974 Holcer was used 52 times in the Yugoslav national team, including in the finals of the European Championship 1968.
