Dragan Đilas

Dragan Djilas ( Serbian Cyrillic Драган Ђилас, born February 22, 1967 in Belgrade ) is a Serbian politician and businessman. He is a member of Demokratska Stranka (DS ) and the current mayor of Belgrade.

Life

He spent his childhood in the young district Novi Beograd, where he attended primary school and high school. At that time he still aspired to a career as a footballer, played football at a Belgrade suburb Club. Subsequently, he studied aerospace engineering at the Faculty of the University of Belgrade. The study he completed with success.

His professional career began initially in 1988 as a journalist with the Belgrade student radio index. 1989 Djilas was one of the founders of the radio station B92, where he worked as an editor of the current service. A little later he got himself as an entrepreneur in the media industry in the Czech Republic and founded the PR firm Multicom. Private life

Djilas has been divorced since 2008. His wife was Milica Delević who was also politically active. From autumn 2003 to mid-August 2004, she headed the Office for Cooperation with the European Union of Serbia and Montenegro. Then she was 2007-2008 Serbian Deputy Foreign Minister. As of November 2008, she leads the Office for European Integration within the Serbian government.

They have two daughters, Sofia and Jovana.
