Drago Gabrić

Drago Gabrić ( born July 4, 1986 in Split, SR Croatia, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Croatian football player.

The midfielder is the son of Tonči Gabrić.

Career

Still in the youth of the Croatian traditional club Hajduk Split, Gabrić decided to switch to Omis and became a regular in the third Croatian league. He then received his first professional contract with his hometown club Hajduk, but first went for half a year on loan for NK Solin in the second division of Croatia and then also on loan to Premier League rivals NK Novalija. Since July 2006 he was in the squad for the first team Hajduk, on 16 September 2006, he was employed for the first time in the first Croatian league, on 17 March 2007 he managed the first hit. For the season 2009/10 Gabrić moved for a transfer fee of 2.5 million euros to the Turkish first division club Trabzonspor.

Internationally, he played for the first time on 19 July 2007 in the UEFA Cup 2007/08. On 1 April 2009 he was appointed for the first time in the levy of the Croatian national football team on 14 November 2009 he played his first international match.

When a traffic accident near Split on 23 May 2011 Gabrić was seriously injured. He was ungehend brought to the intensive care unit of a hospital.
