Dragomir Dujmov

Dragomir Dujmov (Serbian: Драгомир Дујмов ) ( born March 17, 1963 in Szentes, Hungary) is a writer, poet and translator of the Serb minority in Hungary.

Curriculum vitae

Dragomir Dujmov spent his childhood in the area of Baja in Katymár. According to the family legend, his ancestors in 1687 of Mostar, Herzegovina fled to the Hungarian Batschka from the Turks. After the completion of the Serb- Croat grammar school in Budapest, he studied at the University of Novi Sad Serbian literature and language. He graduated from in 1989. In the same year he returned to Hungary and began the Serbian Nikola Tesla high school to teach in Budapest.

Dragomir Dujmov is one of the most important representatives of Serbian literature in Hungary. At first he wrote mainly poetry, later he focused on prose. In the years 1994-2003 Dujmov was a member of the Hungarian-Serbian theater. Since 2004 he has been President of Jakov Ignjatovic - Foundation.

Dujmov wrote poetry, novels, short stories and wrote the libretto for a rock opera ( Pastir Vukova - Sveti Sava (about: shepherd of wolves - Saint Sava ), Budapest, 1994).
