The Dragonja (Italian Dragogna ) is a river in Istria County in Croatia and Slovenia. The 28 -kilometer-long river is formed by the confluence of the herkommenden from the south ( Velika ) Dragonja (it. Dragogna Grande, Quelle45.4889913.861778 ) and the herkommenden from north Pinjevec (it. Dragogna Piccolo, Pignovazzo or Torrente dei Pini ) and flows in Piran the Adriatic Sea. The river was known in antiquity under the name Argaonte and Argaone. The Dragonja partly forms the border between Croatia and Slovenia.
