Drechterland

Drechterland ( West Frisian: Drechterland ) ( listen / i?) Is a municipality in the province of North Holland in the west Friesland region of the Netherlands. It was formed in 1978, initially under the name Bangert, from the merger of the municipalities Hoogkarspel and Westwoud and the district Oosterblokker the community Blokker. During the year 1979, the community was given its present name. On 1 January 2006, merged with the municipality Venhuizen.

Geography
