Drew Gooden

Andrew Melvin " Drew " Gooden (born 24 September 1981 Oakland, California) is an American professional basketball player of Finnish descent, who is currently active for the Washington Wizards. He is 2.08 meters tall, weighs 113.4 kg and plays in the position of power forwards.

Career

College

Drew Gooden played from the 1999/2000 season for the Kansas Jayhawks of the University of Kansas. There he formed with Nick Collison and Kirk Hinrich a promising trio. While Drew Gooden still retired in his freshman season in the second round of the NCAA tournament, the Jayhawks managed 2000/2001, the entry into the "Sweet Sixteen" ( second round ). The most successful was his senior season, in which the Jayhawks in the "Final Four" ( semi-final ) of the NCAA tournament moved in. Andrew Gooden was named " NABC Player of the Year" and his jersey number "0 " of the Jayhawks was withdrawn for the glory.

NBA

In NBA Draft 2002 Drew Gooden was elected at the 4th digit of the Memphis Grizzlies. In February 2003, the Grizzlies Gooden and Gordan Giriček transferred in exchange for Mike Miller and Ryan Humphrey to the Orlando Magic. After his first year as a pro Gooden All- Rookie First Team was called to the NBA. In July 2004 was sent to the Cleveland Cavaliers Gooden Andrew together with Steven Hunter and Anderson Varejao, the charges for Tony Battie. The Cavaliers Gooden remained until 2008 then a fixed size and there reached his greatest success. Thus he became master of the Eastern Conference in 2007 and thus achieved with the Cavaliers, the NBA Finals. In February 2008, Drew Gooden was transferred as part of an eleven players and three teams overall trades on the Chicago Bulls. A year later, in February 2009, was Drew Gooden with Andrés Nocioni, Michael Ruffin and Cedric Simmons transferred in exchange for Brad Miller and John Salmons and came to the Sacramento Kings. After he had played only one game for the Kings, Gooden moved in early March of the year for the rest of the season to the San Antonio Spurs.

In July 2009 he signed a contract with the Dallas Mavericks.

On February 13, 2010, he was traded along with Josh Howard, James Singleton and Quinton Ross for Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood and DeShawn Stevenson to the Washington Wizards. However, for the Wizards, he completed a game.

On February 17, he was traded as part of a trade between three teams to the Los Angeles Clippers. In return, Al Thornton moved to Washington.

July 1, 2010 Gooden signed a five -year contract with the Milwaukee Bucks. On April 9, 2011, he reached his first triple-double with 15 points, 13 rebounds and 13 assists. A year later, on 14 March 2012 he succeeded the second triple-double of his career. (15 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists ) in July 2013, was released via amnesty clause of the Bucks.

On February 26, 2014 he signed a 10 -day contract with the Washington Wizards.
