Dromtön

Drom Tönpa Gyelwe Chungne ( Tib: ' brom ston pa rgyal ba'i ' byung gnas, also: Dromtonpa, Dromtonpa; * 1004/1005, † 1064 ) was one of the most important disciple of Atisha. 1056/1057 founded the monastery Drom Tönpa Radreng north of Lhasa, which became the main center of Kadam, the first Sarma traditions of Buddhism in Tibet. Drom Tönpa applies for that reason as the " founder of the Kadam tradition." From him three lineages of Lamrim instructions were passed ( gzhung pa ba; lam rim pa pa you ngag ).
