Drumoak

Drumoak is a village on the western boundary of the Scottish Unitary Authority Aberdeenshire. It is approximately 16 km west-southwest of the center of Aberdeen and nine kilometers east-northeast of Banchory situated on the northern banks of the Dee. In 2001 Drumoak recorded 716 inhabitants.

Approximately 1.5 km north- west of Drumoak is Drum Castle. This dates from the 13th century and was handed over in 1323 by Robert the Bruce to William de Irwyn. 1871 there was a modernization of the building, which was until 1975 the headquarters of the Clan Irvine. This year it passed into the ownership of the National Trust for Scotland.

The A93 runs through Drumoak and includes the village on to the road network. A few hundred meters south of a side road leads to a bridge over the Dee.
